I know I won't be there, but we just went to a white elephant where we had to buy new, and it wasn't as fun. Everyone just ended up buying food, except us, we actually spent $10 bucks on a good gift. so anyway, push for the funny, it's WAY more fun.
i say either something purchased (cheap) or something that is at least clean and usable. i don't really know. i always have assumed you buy something that is under 5 bucks.
